Second opinions can be conducted remotely in one of two fashions: via a two-way video visit or via an asynchronous, written approach.

Second opinions conducted via video are available to any clinical division who is interested. A telehealth second opinion visit type must be requested for accurate tracking of these visits across the enterprise.

Asynchronous, written second opinions are frequently implemented by peer institutions as cash rate, non-covered services ranging between $800-$2500. Penn Medicine is exploring the feasibility of this program. Please reach out to the Connected Health team if interested.
