PENN MEDICINE TELEHEALTH GO-LIVE CHECKLIST

  1. Complete Telehealth Intake FormPenn Medicine Telehealth Intake Form

Complete for: 1) New-to-Penn departments 2) Department expansion/moves 3) Existing departments that need telehealth added 4) New telehealth visit type requests.
Completion of this form will initiate the request process for the appropriate telehealth visit types to be added to your department.

  1. Switchboard Access: Switchboard access is synonymous with MedView Access, and all practitioners are provisioned with MedView access upon hiring. Switchboard can be accessed on network or through the Penn Medicine Remote Access Portal. Penn Medicine network username and password are used to login. To request access for support staff, please submit an IS ticket to request Medview clinical access for Switchboard. Manager approval will be required.
  2. KnowledgeLink training: All practitioners must self-assign and complete the following KnowledgeLink training prior to beginning telehealth:  Network Telemedicine: A Guide to Outpatient Virtual Visits [COURSE HS.50027.ITEM.TELEMED]. This is not required for support staff but may be helpful.
  3. Connected Health Support site: A detailed telemedicine user guide is available at https://connectedhealth.uphs.upenn.edu/. This contains step-by-step workflows for both practitioners and staff. The KnowledgeLink above is meant to provide a high-level overview, but the Connected Health site is where new team members can access step-by-step instructions.
  4. Telehealth Equipment and Space Setup: Practitioners should have access to a quiet, private location to complete telehealth visits and require Penn-issued OR personal devices with audio and video capability.   5. PACE Team Support: For any training related questions, please submit a ticket for PACE help.

Note: AUTO ENROLLMENT in the Telehealth Visit Guide (Updated 5/1/23): The Visit Guide team will now automatically enroll all departments using telehealth visit types. There is no longer a process for manual enrollment (i.e. submitting an IS ticket through the Telemedicine Support form).
